Former world heptathlon champion Eunice Barber has made a formal complaint alleging police brutality after her arrest in Paris at the weekend, her lawyer told AFP.
The 32-year-old was “very shocked and extremely traumatised” her lawyer Emmanuel Daoud said, four days after she was alleged to have bitten officers who had arrested her near the Stade de France in Paris.
Barber accused police of raining blows down on her while she lay on the ground following her mysterious arrest in northern Paris.
“Several police officers carried out their questioning of my client in a particularly brutal manner,” Daoud said. “She (Barber) was hit by several police officers as she lay on the ground and was handcuffed.”more
